¡°Look what we can do!¡± - Activities on International Labor Day

In order encourage children¡¯s independence and creativity OKiKi held the ¡°Look what we can do!¡± on International Labor Day on the afternoon of April 29th, 2006. The day was held at OKiKi Kindergarten and encouraged the children to be happy and take pride in the results of their work.

The children from Nursery 1, 2 and Kindergarten 1 enthusiastically took part in this activity. Our spacious playground was divided into three stations ¡ª the Nursery 1 group, the Nursery 2 group and the Kindergarten 1 group. When the teachers gave the signal, the children immediately threw themselves into their work.

Nursery 1¡¯s first task was the ¡®put on your shoes competition¡¯. One by one, the children sat on a cushion ready to put on their shoes. Pair by pair, the little feet prepared for competition. The children then charged towards their shoes, some children moving quickly and others taking their time. For some it took only a short period of time for them to finish the tasks. Some are a bit slow. Their parents were cheering up beside the area with great effort to infuse more energy and vitality into their children¡¯s bodies and these children also finished soon. The following were ¡°building with shaped woods¡± and ¡°helping toy babies to return home¡±.

The competition was fiercer in the Nursery 2 Area. With stronger competition conception, they had ¡°folding the clothes¡±, ¡°plucking the red flowers¡± and ¡°peeling the beans¡± activities. Their studious and intent expression and the professional actions really make the image of little competent figures. Especially in the second competition, every child wanted to try their hand after looking at our foreign staff John¡¯s demonstration. All the children have the pleasure in helping themselves.

Finally, the elder sisters and brothers from kindergarten 1 had something interesting too, such as planting the beans in the soil and carrying the watermelons with little carts. They also picked the beans together to the top of the basket. Everybody was in his excellence. Their parents were very happy in their good abilities learnt in the kindergarten. We also ranked the first prize, the second prize and the third prize for memory in the future. Many kids also said that they want to help their parents within the limit of their ability at home.

The kindergarten will have the same kind of activities henceforth to foster the children¡¯s ability of work and the habit of independence. We want the children to exercise themselves as early as possible to develop their intelligence and to have pleasure in work!
