A news conference to introduce the ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± was held in the OKiKi Kindergarten Multifunctional Room on Feb.17th, 2006. During the conference, our international staff members and students expressed good wishes for the new-year to our guest in Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish. The students of Tian Tian Class gave a lively dance performance. Our much loved music teachers Mr. Huang Zugeng and Mr. Tu Zuxiao also gave wonderful and unforgettable performances. Mr. Yuan Min, Managing Director, announced the school¡¯s 2006 plan. Below is a transcript of his speech:
Implementation of the ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± ¨C Yuan Min¡¯s speech to OKiKi Kindergarten
Respected leaders, guests, parents representatives and overseas guests, good afternoon!
I welcome and express my appreciation for your attendance here today, at the news conference for the announcement of the ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± at OKiKi Kindergarten. I am glad to have this opportunity to share the latest information on quality management at OKiKi Kindergarten with you.
Please permit me to introduce the ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡±. As we know, since its establishment OKiKi Kindergarten has set its strategic target on the pursuit of superior service and systems quality. We have established an internal management organization, the ¡°OKiKi Kindergarten Quality Management Committee¡± to ensure quality management. This kind of organization is to some extent unique in the filed of early-childhood education in China. Quality management covers two key points: 1) the service quality of the group and 2) management quality of the organizations internal systems. We believe the first point produces results and latter allows the first to function. At present, OKiKi Kindergarten in the Pudong New Area and Huhui District has gradually implemented quality management. The ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± is a systematic and executable quality management project, a brand-new system we have developed after researching quality management field of early-childhood education.
The ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± will be executed over a two year period. Its purpose is to provide the customers with a stable, reliable, and efficient early-childhood education service. It is our aim to iron out any wrinkles in our system over the next two years. As we know, sometimes it can be difficult to quantify education as a product, particularly when there is no tangible data with which to measure its success. The purpose of the new plan is to convert our service into a numerical index which can be measured and tested. We hope to be a quality management pioneer in the early-childhood education field in Shanghai.
The ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± is divided into three stages. The first stage runs from now until September, 2006. This is the, ¡®system format stage¡¯. It includes determining the standard, as-well-as testing the service environment. We will establish a tracking system, to track the completion of the afore mentioned tasks. The second stage runs from September, 2006 to September, 2007. It will be the ¡®final execution stage¡¯. Immediately after the completion of the project, there will be a period of three to four months in which to evaluate its success. By the spring of 2008, we will have a completed system.
A good quality service system depends not only on its hardware and quality of its staff, but is also a combination of a large number of factors. One must keep in mind the management of children¡¯s educational services must be carried out with great care. In addition, services must cater to a customer whose needs are changing as rapidly as their children are growing. Children are continuously putting forward new needs and new values. Therefore, in order to attain our goal of staying one step ahead in the industry, we must be innovative and challenge common management ideas. For this purpose, the ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± will take numerous measures and execute the new concepts embodying these new and innovative management techniques.
Just like the name of the project, ¡°Spring Vine 06¡± represents a quality management initiative which OKiKi Kindergarten will execute in the spring of 2006. We use the ¡®vine¡¯ as an image for this project as the length of vine can be up to 200 meters in length. Vine-made furniture is the symbol of fashion and top quality. In the same way the ¡°Spring Vine 06 Plan¡± will embody this idea of quality service for the years to come.
In the past our projects have achieved great results. Some achievements are still at the forefront of early-childhood education in Shanghai. For example, many people may be surprised to learn that not only our administration staff and teachers, use the computerized mail system ¡®IBM Domino Notes¡¯ to send information internally, but that our child care assistants use it as-well. And in the next week, we will begin using the ¡°Okiki Kanban Management System¡±. These are all a part of our quality management. The effect of change takes some time to see, but we know in time hard our work will give OKiKi Kindergarten a unique advantage.
Finally, let me announce the formal opening of this program. I¡¯d like to express appreciation on behalf of all the staff at OKiKi Kindergarten to the government of Pudong and Xuhui districts, friends from all walks of life, parents and our business partners for your great support.
